Hello, my name is Jackie Akerson and I am a senior admissions advisor for Cleveland. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Organizational Communications in May 2004 and I joined the admissions team at Cleveland in September 2004. After three years, my husband and I decided to move to Lincoln, Neb., where I continue to work as a regional advisor for the University. This gives me an even better opportunity to meet with prospective students and travel to the states in my territory. In my opinion, the Kansas City metropolitan area is a great place to live and chiropractic and the health sciences are wonderful career choices. If you have any questions about the programs we offer or if you’d like to set up a campus visit, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (913) 234-0743. Oh, and make sure to check out the Town Center Plaza when you are here. There are some neat shops and so many great places to eat! Good luck with your future career.
Hello. I am Jamal Bailey and I am an admissions advisor for Cleveland University-Kansas City. I graduated from Saint Augustine’s University in 2005 with a B.A. degree in English. Shortly after that, I began working in the admissions department of my alma mater where my passion for education grew exponentially. This spearheaded my ambition to further my education, and in 2009 I received my master’s degree in Education Management from Strayer University. Immediately following graduation, I began a teaching career, which led me to Kansas City. I now serve as your admissions liaison that is here to guide you through your admissions process, answer your questions, and ultimately, make your journey easier.
Hello! I am the Admissions Coordinator at Cleveland University-Kansas City and have worked in higher education since 2010! I am responsible for putting together our housing guide, and for scheduling events both on and off campus, including Advisor Day, Discovery Open House, high school visits, Anatomy Night and so much more. I'm originally from New Jersey, and I love my family, my dog and having fun! You may run into me walking the hallways on my break! I look forward to meeting you at one of our Admissions events!
Hello, I've been with the University since 1992, and I am currently the director of admissions. I graduated from Kansas State University with a communications, marketing and public relations degree and made the move from Manhattan, Kan., to the Northland in Kansas City to begin my position as an admissions advisor at Cleveland. Today, I manage a team of admissions advisors that work hard to educate and inform a variety of audiences about Cleveland University-Kansas City, as well as chiropractic and the health sciences. They enjoy working with students and their families during the admissions process, and they welcome any questions you may have about transitioning to Overland Park and becoming a part of the Cleveland family.
Hello, my name is Katie Disselhoff and I am an admissions advisor for Cleveland University-Kansas City. I graduated in 2009 from Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Marketing. After college, I thought I would for sure end up on the east or west coast, but my love for my family and Kansas City was just too strong. On the weekends you could find me at a Royals or Chiefs game, at the Sprint Center for a concert, eating out at one of my favorite restaurants, shopping on the Plaza with friends, or hanging out with my dog, Buster. Unfortunately, I wasn’t exposed to chiropractic care until 2013 when I started getting really heavy into health and fitness. After my first adjustment I was hooked and have been an advocate ever since. I know Cleveland is the right choice for you and I look forward to getting to know you during your time here!
Hi, my name is Nikola Glasgow, and I am the admissions assistant for the Office of Admissions at Cleveland University-Kansas City. I began working in higher education in November 2008, and that is when I knew that a career in education was right for me. I am currently attending school to complete my bachelor’s degree (my major is undecided at this time) and I hope to be done with my degree by Spring 2018. I am super excited to be a part of such a great admissions team, and I look forward to talking with and assisting you throughout your time here at Cleveland.
My name is Allyson Price, and I am excited to be here at Cleveland University-Kansas City as an admissions advisor. I am a Kansas City native with a B.S. degree in Communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I have been employed in higher education in the Kansas City area for the past four years, and also worked with current and prospective student athletes at area universities. I feel honored to now be a part of the chiropractic and health sciences education career fields. With my higher education and athletics background, I think I have a good feel for what students are looking for in a university. I am happy to help with this process and I look forward to meeting you and showing you not only what Kansas City has to offer, but also what Cleveland can do for you.
Hello, my name is Amy Strathman and I am an admissions advisor for Cleveland University-Kansas City. I graduated in 1991 from the University of Kansas with a B.S. degree in Education, majoring in Exercise Science. Kansas City has always been my home, and I think the Midwest is an excellent place to live, work and raise a family. I have known chiropractic my entire life. I received my first chiropractic adjustment at two days old while my father was finishing his D.C. degree. My brother is a chiropractor and currently practices just north of the Kansas City metro area. I have over 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and customer service and I am looking forward to partnering with you on your journey here at Cleveland.
Hello, my name is Lexa Watroba, and I am an admissions advisor at Cleveland University-Kansas City. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., and I graduated in 2013 from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a B.A. degree in Psychology. I later went on to obtain a master’s in Counseling Psychology. I live, eat, and breathe health and fitness, and I have spent most of my adult life educating college students about the importance of it. Outside of work, I enjoy spending free time with my two dogs. I look forward to talking to you more and helping you to achieve your educational endeavors at Cleveland!
