The 2021 Cleveland College Foundation Scholarship Ceremony was held on the Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) campus on Dec. 3. The scholarship ceremony was presented by CUKC President Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III and celebrated 52 students receiving scholarship awards for the coming year.
“The Foundation received much positive feedback on this event from the donors, and the students enjoyed connecting with the CUKC community,” Jessica Ramirez, vice president of Advancement, said.
The annual event honors recipients and donors of memorial scholarships and named awards set up by families, grateful patients, and others with Cleveland connections. Fifteen CUKC students received a scholarship award through the Make it Count Foundation, which benefits veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
“There was a more than 20% increase in scholarship dollars awarded this year, and we were encouraged and excited more students received financial assistance,” Ramirez said. “With 2022 as our centennial year, expectations are that we’ll again increase our support for students to a new level.”
