The administration team of Cleveland University-Kansas City is led by Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III, president, a fourth-generation chiropractor and the grandson of the founders. D.C., Palmer College of Chiropractic
Dr. Agocs is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Palmer College of Chiropractic. He joined Cleveland University-Kansas City in 2007, and is the Assistant Dean of Chiropractic Education. Agocs teaches History of Chiropractic and Technique Systems, Thompson Technique and Flexion-Distraction Technique, as well as serving as the lead chiropractor at Kansas City CARE Health Center. Dr. Agocs teaches pain science seminars, chiropractic technique and RockTape’s Functional Movement Techniques at the postgraduate level.
M.B.A., Keller Graduate School of Management
Alex Bach serves as the Vice President of Enrollment Management for Cleveland University-Kansas City. His background includes more than 20 years of experience in various marketing, technical and leadership roles. Prior to joining Cleveland, he worked for Concorde Career College, Grantham University, Sprint Nextel and within the creative agency environment. He has worked with numerous local, national and multinational clients, including Wal-Mart, Dollar/Thrifty Car Rental, CST Industries, Farmland Foods and the University of Pennsylvania. A United States Marine Corps veteran and former non-traditional student, Bach holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
D.C., Parker College of Chiropractic
Dr. Baier has been with Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) since 2014, and currently serves as the Director of Clinical Education for the College of Chiropractic. A 1998 cum laude graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic, Baier and his wife – who is also a chiropractor – spent 16 years in private practice in Kansas and Colorado. He joined Cleveland as a clinician and clinical educator in the Cleveland University-Kansas City Chiropractic Health Center. Currently, he is the lead class instructor for, CLI 610 and CLI 750. In addition, Baier attended the Process of Integrating Evidence Conference for Evidence Informed Practice in 2017, and the 2018 Council of Chiropractic Education Meta-competency workshop in Arizona. He has also served as Faculty Council president while at CUKC.
Dr. Beckley is a 1975 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City. In his role as vice president of campus and alumni relations, Beckley interacts with various campus constituencies, including students, faculty, alumni and the external community. The Office of Campus and Alumni Relations is responsible for the oversight of Student Services, Alumni Services and Post Graduate Education and Facilities Management.
Jalonna Bowie is the director of campus and alumni relations, and has been with Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) since 2004. She received a bachelor's in social work from Fort Hays State University in 2002. Bowie is a key contact for CUKC alums, and serves as the lead coordinator for Homecoming and continuing education offerings for Cleveland alumni. Bowie also plays an integral role in many campus events for current students. She organizes a variety of social activities, serves as the host of new student orientation, provides assistance with graduation, and offers guidance to students about insurance options, counseling services, day care and fitness center enrollment.
Carol Brewer received a B.A. in management and human resources from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2013. She joined the executive offices at Cleveland University-Kansas City in 2018, where she supports the university president and other senior administrators. Her role includes communicating with students, coordinating and organizing events and meetings on behalf of the president, as well as compiling and maintaining a variety of meeting minutes as assigned. In her free time, Brewer enjoys serving on the board of the Jared Coones Planning Committee. Named for her nephew, the committee has hosted an annual 5k run since 1999 to raise money for several organizations that provided assistance to Jared during his battle with leukemia.

Simone Briand received a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas, and an M.S. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Florida International University in Miami. She earned a Master's in Library Science from the University of Missouri in 2010, and currently serves as the director of the Ruth R. Cleveland Memorial Library at Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC). Her previous library experience includes New York Medical College, the State University of New York at Purchase, and her hometown public library in western Kansas during her high school years. She has been with CUKC for more than 14 years and loves working with students and faculty. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, poetry open mics, music of all kinds, coffee shops, reading and road trips.
