This degree is stackable, which means all courses required for our A.A. in biological sciences degree are part of the B.S. in human biology curriculum, so you can choose to progress toward your B.S. in human biology. You may also choose to complete your A.A. degree and transfer your credits to another college or university. This degree is also a good first step toward becoming a pre-med major.

A.A. in Biological Sciences Degree Program Information

The A.A. in biological sciences at CUKC offers accelerated pre-allied health sciences and general education coursework that can be completed in less than two years. The associate degree program requires a minimum of 60 credit hours of postsecondary coursework. Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 credit hours at CUKC. Approximately 60 percent of your coursework can be completed online.

Admission Requirements for the A.A. in Biological Sciences

  • Complete an online application for the program and submit the non-refundable application fee.
  • Submit your official high school transcript showing a graduation date and a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale. (A GED credential certification or verification from an appropriate accredited homeschool agency will also satisfy this requirement.) If you are currently in high school, you may submit your transcript for the first term of your junior year. A final official transcript must be submitted after graduation, but before starting at CUKC.
  • Submit official postsecondary transcript(s) if you have completed college credits. If you have more than 24 college credits, you are not required to submit high school transcripts. Your cumulative college grade point average should be a minimum of 2.0.
  • Make a non-refundable tuition deposit, which is credited to your first trimester’s tuition. Your deposit is required within 60 days after being accepted into the program.

Application Procedures for the A.A. in Biological Sciences

Begin your online application.

If you have not attended college, or you have fewer than 24 college credit hours, you must submit your high school or GED transcript and your ACT/SAT scores. All official college transcripts are required for all degree programs. Transcripts must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions.

Applicants for the A.A. program may be required to participate in a final interview prior to being enrolled. Applicants will be notified in writing of CUKC’s decision regarding admission.
