Dr. Maria Korkounian-Vartanian, a 2003 alumna of Cleveland Chiropractic College-Los Angeles (CCCLA), was recently appointed Vice President of Business Development at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Santa Clarita, Calif.
In addition to her bachelor’s and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from CCCLA, now CUKC, she earned an MBA in Healthcare Management from Western Governor’s University.
As a member of the executive leadership team, Korkounian-Vartanian’s responsibilities will include helping the hospital develop and implement strategic growth initiatives, according to Roger Seavor, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital CEO. A key initiative is to enhance collaboration and alignment of Henry Mayo services with the Santa Clarita physician community.
Korkounian-Vartanian most recently was Executive Director of Market Development for Dignity Health’s Southern California region. Her team was responsible for driving growth and revenue for six hospitals.
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is a 357-bed nonprofit community hospital and trauma center founded in 1975. The hospital is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and a STEMI Receiving Center for advanced heart attack care. It also has a neonatal intensive care unit, catheterization lab, infusion center, breast center, and an outpatient surgery center.
CCCLA refers to the Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles campus. In 2011, the Cleveland Los Angeles campus consolidated operations with the Cleveland Kansas City campus. Cleveland Chiropractic College became Cleveland University-Kansas City in 2015.
