The CUKC Chiropractic Health Center in October hosted the Leawood, Kan., Chamber of Commerce on the Cleveland University-Kansas City campus. The Oct. 21 event served a dual purpose, helping the Health Center’s chiropractic interns make connections within the Kansas City region, and allowing chamber members to see the CUKC campus first-hand and learn more about the Health Center’s services.
“We were pleased to host the Leawood Chamber of Commerce event on campus on October 21,” Dr. Angie Segovia, community outreach coordinator, said. “The members complimented the University on a beautiful campus. More importantly, the event helps us build connections and relationships within the local community and spread the good news about chiropractic in today’s healthcare landscape.”
During the event, CUKC President Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III welcomed the chamber members to campus and presented an overview of the university and the Health Center. Leawood Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Jeffries also addressed the audience.
Approximately 50 chamber members and CUKC staff, faculty, and chiropractic interns attended the “after hours” event. The Leawood Chamber represents more than 40 businesses has more than 1,600 members representing 40-plus businesses within the Leawood, Kan., city limits.
“We found it to be a successful event on all fronts,” Dr. Segovia said.
