The sun was shining and the Santa Ana winds were whistling as college donors and friends gathered Oct. 25 in the Private Dining Room at the Cleveland-Los Angeles campus. Alums, colleagues and friends chatted away over appetizers and cold drinks during a social event to honor friends of the college.
Dr. John Nab, vice president for institutional advancement and alumni services, welcomed the guests to the reception and presented “Making A Difference” awards to endowment and planned-giving donors, as well as “Leading the Future” awards to capital campaign donors.
Highlights of the afternoon included Dr. Gloria Lee-Ford ’72, who acknowledged that she has referred more than 40 students to CCCLA, and Dr. Stuart Martin ’96, sharing how innate intelligence led him to establish the Martin Family Native American Scholarship for CCCLA students.
