Updated COVID Procedures at CUKC
Greetings, CUKC community:
Due to the decrease in COVID infections on the Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) campus, the administration is suspending campus COVID reporting, beginning Monday, March 14, 2022. However, all are encouraged to continue following the CDC recommendations for isolation and masking based on their unique situations. Personal protective equipment will continue to be available on the CUKC campus for those who desire it.
Regarding student attendance, the 15% absence rule will remain in place, with the understanding that students with positive COVID tests may appeal if their absence is under 20%. Any additional announcements or modifications to COVID policies or procedures at CUKC will be shared with the campus community prior to their implementation. In the interim, please continue to be respectful of others and maintain good personal hygiene practices.
Your continued cooperation is appreciated.

CUKC Vice President of Human Resources
and Organizational Development
About the Reports
The charts on this page reflect the most current number of actual “isolations” based on COVID-19 reports received by Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC). The University has been closely monitoring since the pandemic began in the spring. On Nov. 6, 2020, CUKC began updating the charts.
There are three categories of “isolations,” which are:
The percentages are based on a combined employee and student headcount of 745, calculated when the reporting began on Oct. 27, 2020. While the headcount fluctuates somewhat as we hire employees, or students go on leave, 745 is the headcount we will use for the time being.
The University occasionally receives reports from business partners, such as IT, custodial services, and security, which perform other functions on campus. Business partner “isolations” are included in the reporting, but not in the headcount of 745.
Reports from individuals who do not justify isolation from campus are noted, but are not included in the report unless isolation is required.
Individuals are required to isolate for different lengths of time, depending on their situation. Each Tuesday and Friday, there are likely to be individuals who have completed the isolation period and returned to campus. Those individuals are no longer included in the reporting. Occasionally, symptomatic individuals are cleared through negative test results, and are dropped from the next report.
The charts are only as accurate as the information received through the University’s COVID-19 reporting system; however, it is still quite informative as a mechanism of seeing what is occurring within our campus community over time.
All students and staff should immediately report cases to include symptoms, COVID-19 diagnoses, and exposures or suspected exposures at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/M7JGLSZ (new link as of 7/27/21.)
