If you were to ask most people that work in the healthcare field why they chose that career, most of the time the answer is going to be that they want to help people. This usually applies to chiropractors as well. We all want to help people feel better, get rid of pain, and lead healthier lives. Luckily, here at Cleveland University-Kansas City we do not have to wait until we graduate to start helping people.

Luckily, here at Cleveland University-Kansas City we do not have to wait until we graduate to start helping people. Throughout the year organizations and school clubs host charitable events where the students can get involved and give back. There are wonderful opportunities for students to give back to some here at the school, those in the community, and even some organizations in other parts of the country.
Some of our most recent invents include the Flower/Candy Gram Sale, Have-A-Heart Campaign, and the Family Wellness Card Shower. The Flower/Candy Gram Sale was put on by the Female Chiro Club and all of the proceeds went towards helping with medical bills for the family of one of the staff of CUKC.
Both the Family Wellness Card Shower and the Have-A-Heart Campaign were put on by the Family Wellness Club. The Have-A-Heart Campaign benefits Oklahaven which is a non-profit children’s chiropractic center in Oklahoma. People can donate all the way through Feb. 12 and have a paper heart displayed. The Family Wellness Card Shower is in correlation with the Children’s Mercy Valentine’s Day Card Shower.
Students had the opportunity to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards that will be delivered to the children at Children’s Mercy Hospital on Feb. 12 and will hopefully make their Valentine’s Day a little more special! All of these events at CUKC are just another reason to be a CUKC student.
