Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) is pleased to join the Kansas Independent College Association in support of the “Apply Kansas: College Application Month” initiative in 2019 by waiving application fees this October. Waiving the college application fee during October helps encourage first-generation students, low-income students, and students who might not otherwise apply to college or pursue a college education.
CUKC encourages high school seniors to attend “Apply Kansas” events coordinated by participating high schools. In 2018, more than 4,000 students participated in “Apply Kansas” events and activities. The events are designed to help facilitate a smooth transition between high school, college, and moving into the professional workforce.
“Apply Kansas” was launched in 2015 as part of the 50-state American College Application Campaign. The “Apply Kansas” initiative is intended to increase the number of students who apply to college early in their senior year of high school. The initiative seeks to ensure that 60 percent of Kansas residents have a college degree or credential by the year 2020.
