Dr. Cheryl Carpenter-Davis, vice president of academic affairs at Cleveland University-Kansas City, was recently named as a member of the Academy of the Site Team Visitors (Academy) of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).
“It is a personal privilege to provide this announcement that Dr. Carpenter-Davis, a valued member of the CUKC academic administrative team, has received this most important leadership appointment within chiropractic education accreditation,” said Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III.
“Dr. Davis-Carpenter brings 27 years of experience in higher education,” Dr. Cleveland added. “Her participation as a CCE Academy of Site Team Visitors will be of great value to the CCE and to the individual chiropractic programs as each moves through the cycle of accreditation.”
The CCE is the accreditation body authorized by the Department of Education for the review and approval of the 15 chiropractic programs at 18 campus locations in the U.S. The CCE reviews, awards, reaffirms, and continues accreditation, ensuring compliance with the requirements and clinical competencies reflected in The CCE Accreditation Standards for Doctor of Chiropractic Degree Programs/Solitary Purpose Chiropractic Institutions and The CCE Residency Accreditation Standards (for Residency Programs.)
The individual members of the Academy represent a key component of the CCE accreditation process. Trained individuals representing various areas of academic and clinical expertise and diversity are selected from the Academy to constitute the membership of the visitation teams responsible for the onsite review of an individual chiropractic program’s compliance with the CCE Educational Standards.
Dr. Carpenter-Davis is also a Peer Reviewer of the Higher Learning Commission.
