When I first started chiropractic college, it seemed like I would never make it this far. Being an intern was only a daydream that occurred between studying for exams.
Here at Cleveland, when you are in trimester 9 of 12 or 7 of 10, you enter the student clinic and can start treating students at CUKC and direct family members. When I first started, it seemed like I would never make it. When it happened, it seemed like the past eight trimesters flew by.
On a Friday, my fellow students and I participated in the Business Card Ceremony to officially recognize us as chiropractic interns. Our friends, family members, and clinicians all gathered in the Dining & Assembly Hall for lunch, and to see us receive our business cards. Dressed in our white coats and best clinic attire, we waited as Dr. Cleveland called our names individually and invited us to the front for a photo op and our long-awaited box of business cards.
After our lunch, there were plenty more photos taken with our families and friends. While the ceremony honored all of the hard work my fellow students and I have put forth, I also think it was to celebrate the support systems behind us.
