Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) is educating leaders in chiropractic and the health sciences who are passionate about making a positive difference in the community.
This October, during National Chiropractic Health Month, members of the Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) at Cleveland University-Kansas City are doing their part to promote awareness and benefits of chiropractic care.
CUKC SACA students contacted local government representatives to advocate for National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM). In the process they received signed proclamations for NCHM from the state of Kansas, and the cities of Overland Park and Lenexa, Kan., Kansas City, Mo., and Colorado Springs, Colo.
For NCHM 2018, the American Chiropractic Association is promoting the theme "Move 4 Life," helping communicate the benefits of movement to maintaining optimal health.
"Moving for Life" reminders:
- Physical activity not only can help you lose weight, it can also reduce the incidence of low back pain and improve your mood.
- Exercise/movement can help seniors prevent falls by increasing muscle strength and improving balance.
- Walking is one of the easiest ways to reap the benefits of physical activity.
- According to CDC, only half of adults and about a quarter of high school students in the U.S. meet the minimum recommendations for physical activity. Get moving!
