I’ve reached another milestone in my chiropractic career. I have now transitioned from the student clinic into the outpatient Health Center!
Interns that are in trimester 7 of 10, or 9 of 12, start in the student clinic where they can treat other parents, spouses, children and fellow students. Once they have achieved 50 total adjustments, five physical exams and passed Part I of the national boards, students are able to advance to the outpatient Health Center.
The outpatient Health Center is located on campus and provides care to thousands of patients from neighboring communities year-round. Patients of all ages come to the Health Center for various reasons, such as chiropractic care, rehabilitation and sports physicals, just to name a few. While it is a big transition from the student clinic, I am excited to experience the wide range of real-life clinical cases that are to come.
Occasionally, I look back at my time thus far at Cleveland and think I have spent way more than three years here. However, reaching each new milestone has made the time fly. I know when I walk across the stage to graduate this December, I will wonder where all the time went.
