In any given year, about 85% of college students benefit from some form of financial aid. To help CUKC students maximize their financial aid possibilities, the CUKC Financial Aid team is presenting three information sessions in January.
“The effort you make to explore college financial aid is well worth the time and energy spent,” reminds Danielle Hicks, director of Financial Aid. “These sessions will explain changes and new terms on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), plus we’ll answer any questions students have.”
Three sessions about the changes to FAFSA are scheduled, all in room 2090:
“Mastering the FAFSA matters, and there are important updates to know about,” Hicks said.
For example, a Student Aid Index (SAI) now replaces the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The SAI considers the income and assets of the student and family, and any others contributing financially to the student’s household.”
If you’re interested in attending a January information session, let Financial Aid know by responding to the RSVP link you’ll find in your CUKC email.
One of the ways we live out the promise of a student-focused university is by having a full-time staff that knows about opportunities for scholarships, grants, loan possibilities, and your options for paying loans back after you’ve graduated with the degree you’ve always imagined.
