Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) is proud to announce continued participation in the Yellow Ribbon G.I. Bill® Education Enhancement Program. Also known as the Yellow Ribbon Program, it helps make private universities more affordable for U.S. military veterans by reducing or eliminating education expenses that are not covered by the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill.®
The program agreement between CUKC and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides funds to cover all or part of the amount of higher education expenses for veterans at participating private, non-profit universities.
As part of the program, CUKC offers a veterans-only scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition and fees. The scholarship is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.
The program allows institutions of higher learning (degree-granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the annual maximum cap for private institutions. CUKC will contribute up to 50% of those expenses, and the VA will then match the amount given by the institution. The CUKC awards vary by amount.
Yellow Ribbon Program benefits are only available to veterans entitled to the maximum 100% benefit rate of their Post 9/11 G.I. Bill,® as determined by service requirements. (Their designed transferees may be eligible.) The program can help cover private university tuition and fees at participating higher learning institutions.
To maintain eligibility for the Yellow Ribbon program benefits at CUKC, you must maintain continuous enrollment as defined by the University, and you must also be working toward the completion of your enrolled program.
Veterans planning to finance their education with federal funds must present certified authorization from the VA. If you haven’t already done so, submit your application for the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill® benefits to the VA.
If they determine that you are eligible, they will provide you with a Certificate of Eligibility. You can then bring that certificate to the CUKC Office of Financial Aid to have your enrollment certified for your VA benefits. Applicants must complete all CUKC admissions procedures, including the payment of nonrefundable applications and reservation fees.
Veterans may refer any questions relating to enrollment at the University to the certification officer in the Office of Financial Aid. If you want some in-depth answers about financial aid, you may want to get our free eBook: Your Guide to Navigating Financial Aid.
